Raavanan - Movie Review

Image
The film is about Veera, a tribal, kidnapping Ragini, wife of a cop Dev, who played a role in the death of his step sister, to seek revenge and how Ragini gets to know the real Veera after all the outer layers of his character gets peeled. Even before Raavan/ Raavanan/ Villian released the film was being killed on twitter, the new Ram. I saw the Tamil version Which i think would be better than the Hindi version because a) Mani Ratnam looses it, when he tries to adapt it in Hindi (b) The Tamil version has got Vikram. That is one big reason I was excited about this film. For years I wanted Vikram, this beautiful actor to be known to everyone in the world. I hold him on par with Kamal Haasan of this generation. Just see the way he effortlessly switches between his split personalities in the film Anniyan/ Aparichit/Aparichitudu. You would know what am I talking about if you see this. The same is also available in Hindi Vikram didnt disappoint me one bit with hi...

Review of Paa and Rocket Singh.

Image
I follow the policy “If you dont have anything to say just do say anything” Now I have something to say. Not long back I saw two good films, Paa and Rocket Singh. Both had  similar weaknesses and strengths, but very different story lines.   ROCKET SINGH Rocket Singh is a film about an undergo who barely gets through his graduation and wants to become a salesman. He ends in a company where gets harassed and then finds company to form a company with his colleagues secretly. What happens to him is for you to see the film and know. Strengths: The film’s strength is its realism. Jaideep Sahni has once again pulled the rabbit out of the hat. The mannerisms of each and every character is well thought of. All the actors are absolutely brilliant, especially that of the Senior Salesman and the porn addicted employee. Ranbir is awesome with his turban pulling stunt and  beard comb and makes you feel he is a real Sardar. Weaknesses:   For star...

Nammai Pol Oruvan ( some one like us)

Image
I was sitting in front of my computer day dreaming of getting the tickets of Kamal and Mohan Lal starrer “Unnaipol Oruvam” ( someone like you), the remake of the Hindi movie “A Wednesday”. That’s when my dad blocked my vision showing a ticket to the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed this one heck of a movie. The film deals with how a common man can really bring a city to a stand still. It picks up the issue of how to fight terrorism. The films Starts with Kamal Haasan a common man who plants bombs all round the city and call the Commissioner of Police enacted by Mohan Lal and negotiates with him to release terrorists to a location. Rest of the story revolves around what does he do with the terrorists and does he do what he actually wanted. The Dialogues in the movie are really sharp, inspiring and witty at places. the dialogue uttered by an ethical hacker, who comes to track Kamal’s location is one of the best . When Mohan Lal asks him whether he can work with this comp...
