Celebrating Bogus Bhogi and Pongal

Image
On Wednesday Jan 13 Tamil Nadu celebrated Bhogi. A festival celebrated on the last day of the last month of the Tamil year. This is the time of the year when I become that much more heavier. In a way pongal can be said as the New year in Tamil Nadu. People say Bhogi is about burning the old and starting afresh. Perhaps we were never good at metaphors or we just refuse to dont want to understand. No wonder the Indian constitution is one of the longest, given we find loopholes to exploit. We Indians have the best brains in the world. No one knows better than us about how to misconstrue quotes like the above.   We asked Dubakoor Guru and he came out with this to help them How to create artificial mist in Chennai and justify it? 1. This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 6 ; the sixth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton . “30 minutes more. Quick get your act together” the invigilator shouted as our Protagonist was in Trans, thinking. Within 30 minutes, whatever college life has left in him will dry like dew facing the sun. Let me tell you about our protagonist, Hari. He is a guy with all the bad luck loaded on his side. The next minute his Mother dies and his dad’s Tirupathi trip was now to mortuary. He was absolutely pathetic when it came to academics; flunked 2 years in school; always a menace to his father. Current Status- 3 arrears to clear and that’s a

Review of Paa and Rocket Singh.

Image
I follow the policy “If you dont have anything to say just do say anything” Now I have something to say. Not long back I saw two good films, Paa and Rocket Singh. Both had  similar weaknesses and strengths, but very different story lines.   ROCKET SINGH Rocket Singh is a film about an undergo who barely gets through his graduation and wants to become a salesman. He ends in a company where gets harassed and then finds company to form a company with his colleagues secretly. What happens to him is for you to see the film and know. Strengths: The film’s strength is its realism. Jaideep Sahni has once again pulled the rabbit out of the hat. The mannerisms of each and every character is well thought of. All the actors are absolutely brilliant, especially that of the Senior Salesman and the porn addicted employee. Ranbir is awesome with his turban pulling stunt and  beard comb and makes you feel he is a real Sardar. Weaknesses:   For starters the climax of the film makes
